JOB DETAILS

A global insurance firm with a strong employee benefits presence have an exciting opportunity for a EB Claims & Medical underwriter to join their London based team.

The main purpose of this role will be to take responsibility for the timely and accurate assessment and management of income protection
claims, ensuring a high level of customer service whilst minimising anti-selection, fraud and financial
exposure. As well as this you will also Support the Claims & Medical Underwriting Manager in the delivery of profitability of the Division and
the department's targets.

The main duties will include:
* Efficiently and accurately assess income protection claims, providing support to clients with regard to
* absence management, as well as identifying non-valid and fraudulent claims and ensuring the
* accurate assessment of liability.
* Ensure the timely review and follow-up of all in-payment income protection claims to verify continued
* entitlement to benefit, mitigating measures available and accurate claims reserving.
* Carry out administrative duties relating to the above processes.
* Provide support to the Claims & Medical Underwriting Manager.
* Ensure that internal procedures, claims philosophy and operational authorities are adhered to.
* Ensure that all procedures and documentation are compliant with the applicable legislation and
* industry guidelines including, but not limited to, those set down by the FCA and the ABI as well as
* the legislation governing the processing of sensitive personal data, access to confidential medical
* information and various discrimination laws.

The right candidate will have previous experience in a similar role Ideally working in a claims and/or medical underwriting and/or group risk insurance
environment. You will also have excellent technical knowledge and awareness of the Group Life and Health market and claims and
