Financial Controller


Financial Controller


A rapidly growing advertising agency has an immediate requirement for qualified Financial Controller with a proven background in either advertising or a media related industry to join them on an initial 6 month contract.

Reporting directly into the European Finance Director you will have responsibility in managing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures

Key responsibilities
* Ensure all companies maintain a sub set of balance sheet accounts such as VAT, prepayments, Accruals, fixed assets, cash, intercompany and payroll.
* Ensure Preparation and reporting of P&L and Balance sheet reports and reviewing results with FD.
* To create and evaluate charge out rates for the business
* Preparing information for Group timetables and reporting requirements integrating with NY reporting.
* Providing cost analysis and ad hoc reports to the business units.
* Ensure teams process Accounts Payable and Expenses to ensure invoices are correctly coded, processed quickly and paid in accordance with policy. Assist in the transition of these functions to external provider.
* Ensure teams perform Client billing and job reconciliations and debt collection.

Key skills & experience
* Qualified.
* Management Accounts and Group Reporting experience.
* Excellent analytical skills and a good understanding of accounting.
* Good communication skills and management of people.
* Accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
* Ability to organise work to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Self motivated with a positive and professional manner.
* A pro-active approach to problem solving and the ability to identify issues and ensure they are escalated if necessary.
* Knowledge of a variety of accounting systems a benefit, primarily Dynamics AX and HFM but not an absolute necessity.
* Advanced excel skills and ability to use spreadsheets to add value.
