Supporting the Category Manager we are looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist (indirect spend). Not only will you be supporting the Category Manager but you will become a part of a leading Procurement Team which has been recognised by CIPS as being one of only 11 performing to their stature!
We are looking to recruit an individual who is consistent at developing and delivering value for the business. However, this should be done by using industry knowledge to think differently, proactively and challenging current practices.
This professional will also be ambitious and determined to sit at the forefront of their procurement interface for:
The right candidate will have a significant portfolio which shows how dynamic you can be and displays your industry knowledge across multiple materials and services.
Whilst supporting the Category Manager you will be part of the Indirects Team and will be a figure which is expected to support, establish and develop contracts alongside them.
Work may include:
·Reactive sourcing activities.
·Analysis of active and expiring contracts
·Internal responses to procurement requirements
·Category analysis and management
·System and vendor management
·Delivering direct 3-bids and under framework
·Provide a key customer interface for the wider procurement team, managing procurement enquiries and requests.
·Provide contract and vendor analysis, supporting the procurement team to avoid contract expiry
·Support the business in a breadth of procurement requirements, direct sources, 3 bids and tenders in a timely manner based around the business outputs
·Support the implementation of procurement and business initiatives by challenging existing ways of working and continuously seeking ways to do things better.
·Responsible for management of a specific portfolio, including developing the category sourcing strategy, the selection of suppliers and contractual terms best suited to the items
·Maximise the value of contractual arrangements utilising the development of contract strategies, contract development and life-cycle management
·Perform activities that evaluate and leverage relationships with category suppliers.
·Manage compliance to all business, governance and legislative policies, initiatives and processes
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
·Ability to work in a pressured environment as part of a highly focused team.
·Able to influence & challenge internal stakeholders and co-workers, as well as the ability to decant measurable business needs.
·Have a basic understanding of strategic sourcing execution, i.e. cost, price and financial analysis, internal & external market analysis, category strategy, market testing and innovation.
·Supplier relationship management
·Educated to degree level with focus on procurement, engineering or business studies.
·Working knowledge of industry standard contracts, i.e. NEC3
·Previous experience of a regulated company
