This role will provide support to the COO and will represent the HR department consistently and with professionalism. The role will provide support at an operational level in respect of HR issues, organisational development, employee relations and human resource processes within the business.
The role will primarily provide support to the leadership team providing expert advice in respect of managing employment issues. The role is also responsible for facilities. Key duties:

Provide HR advice and support to managers in respect of performance management, disciplinary, grievance, capability & conduct, ensuring consistent implementation of advice which is in line with policies and procedures and current employment law.

* Lead the human resources function ensuring support for the policies and frameworks, office facilities and health and safety.
* Support and maintain effective employee relations with the internal unions and staff representatives.
* Work with the Chief Operating Officer to create and commission management development programmes aimed at developing Leaders.
* Develop learning and development approaches which support and develop the skills, capabilities and knowledge of staff

* Lead the human resources and office services functions ensuring support for the Association in respect of policies and frameworks, office facilities and health and safety.
* Support and maintain effective employee relations with the Association's internal unions and staff representatives.
* Create and commission management development programmes aimed at developing Middle Leaders.
* Develop learning and development approaches which support and develop the skills, capabilities and knowledge of staff
* Develop and embed a recruitment and retention approach that supports the flexible resourcing model

* Update and review HR policies, procedures and guidelines, ensuring they are legally compliant and align with vision and values.
* Embed and maintain the reward strategy and performance management approach which underpins the vision, supports the aim of recruiting and maintaining high quality employees and enables the overall organisational strategy to achieve financial sustainability.
* Promote effective employee engagement including the development, delivery and analysis of staff surveys and the creation of spot surveys.
* Act as a change agent to guide our staff and managers through organisational change, forging and creating trusted successful relationships which build credibility with stakeholders and deliver success.

CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience), the successful candidate will have managerial experience gained within an HR role. Experience of working with Trade Unions is essential for this organisation, and enthusiasm for all areas of operational HR is key.
