Great opportunity has arisen for a Direct Procurement Manager ideally with Engineering and Maintenance experience to join this fast paced, internationally recognised organisation on a 6 month Interim Contract. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in an Engineering or Business Management area. As an effective communicator with strong influencing ability and negotiation skills, you will have the ability to build and maintain strong and credible relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be comfortable picking up new sourcing initiatives and contracts mid- negotiation. You will be intellectually able to research, assimilate and process complex data from a range of sources, and will have a sound knowledge of contract law, with experience negotiating complex commercial deals with large supplier organisations.

The role involves:

Conducting detailed analysis of category spend and volume information, & supporting the Head of Category in the strategic and operational procurement for Engineering and Maintenance expenditure

Managing and conducting key core procurement plans and processes to deliver business objectives and commercial gain, including:
- Research and evaluation of options for supply
- Evaluation and selection of suppliers
- Conducting tenders and supplier negotiations
- Providing clear and objective recommendations supported by analysis
- Drafting and executing robust commercial contracts

Developing subject matter expertise in the Engineering and Maintenance category, understanding market forces, cost drivers of the market and what motivates suppliers in order to drive the on-going cost effectiveness of the supply of these products and services

Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers globally

Developing and maintaining on-going relationships with all relevant stakeholders to influence, shape and support key business requirements

Computer literate and experienced with web-enabled procurement tools you will demonstrate strong organisation skills and be able to work alone or as part of a team, whilst demonstrating a high level of procurement/purchasing experience obtained in supply of services, equipment and maintenance.
A knowledge of engineering & maintenance procurement within the aerospace industry is desirable but not a pre-requisite for this role.
