This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pensions professional to work for a specialist, independent Pensions Consultancy known for delivering high quality governance, management, and strategic support to Pension schemes.

We’re looking for an experienced Pensions Governance & Risk Management Consultant to help deliver and lead high-quality governance and risk management projects for DB and/or DC pension schemes. This is a key role in a growing team, offering the opportunity to work with trustee boards, shape best practice, and influence governance standards across the Pensions industry.

Ideally you will have strong Pensions experience, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a passion for helping clients improve their governance and risk frameworks.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and deliver governance and risk management projects for Pension schemes
  • Act as a trusted adviser to Trustee boards and senior stakeholders
  • Manage small project teams and support senior leads on larger clients
  • Conduct governance and board effectiveness reviews, develop policies, and design delegation frameworks
  • Lead risk management work, including ORAs, risk registers, assurance frameworks and regulatory compliance
  • Use practical experience in areas like IRM, ESG/climate, operational risk, data protection and cyber resilience
  • Produce clear, high-quality reports and present findings to clients
  • Support commercial management, budgeting and billing
  • Build strong client relationships and proactively grow your external network
  • Support bids, tenders and broader business development
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues
  • Stay fully up to date with pensions legislation and industry trends

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in Pensions governance and/or risk management
  • Strong analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
  • Experience planning and delivering projects successfully
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships
