  Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Process supplier invoices, match them to purchase orders, and prepare payment runs.
  • Raise sales invoices and assist with credit control duties by chasing outstanding payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assist with VAT returns, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Support the month-end closing process by preparing journals and reconciling accounts.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from suppliers and customers.
  • Assist the finance team with ad hoc administrative and financial tasks as required.

  Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP) and MS Excel.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Credit Control:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s debtor accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Proactively chase overdue payments via phone, email, and letter in line with company policy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure prompt resolution of payment issues.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of receivables and outstanding debt.

  Accounts Payable:

  • Process supplier invoices, matching them to purchase orders and ensure correct authorisation.
  • Prepare payment runs and ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
