HR Advisor

Based on site in Dartford

£40-50k

Our client, a national FMCG organisation with offices in Dartford are seeking an HR Advisor to work as part of an HR function of 3 people and deliver high-quality, people-focused HR services across the employee life cycle.

Operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment, the HR Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping HR practices, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of fairness, trust, and inclusion.

  • Work as part of the the HR team to deliver responsive and effective HR support.
  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, ensuring consistency, compliance, and quality across all areas. . Provide expert advice and support on complex employee relations matters including absence, conduct, performance, and grievance issues.
  • Ensure fair and legally compliant outcomes, balancing policy with individual circumstances.
  • Support and coach managers in preparing for and conducting formal meetings, including investigations and hearings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring a smooth experience for employees and managers.
  • Assist with policy interpretation and application, ensuring clarity and consistency across departments.
  • Ensure all HR activity is aligned with current employment legislation and company values. Contribute to the development of HR practices that reflect fairness, flexibility and operational needs.
  • Build strong working relationships with managers and employees across the business.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering practical and tailored HR guidance.
  • Collaborate with the wider HR team to support projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Design and deliver engaging essential manager skills training to support leadership capability and confidence.

Successful applicants will have proven experience in an HR advisory role, ideally within a fast-paced, pragmatic, and people-focused environment. Ability to manage complex employee relations cases with fairness, empathy, sound judgement and operational awareness is essential. Experience working closely with managers to influence and guide people decisions is also key. Formal HR qualifications are welcomed but not required for this operational HR role that offers a clear career development pathway and a supportive working environment.
