Alexander Lloyd is delighted to be partnering with a financial services organisation, on the recruitment of a Learning & Development Manager.

This is a key role within the HR function, responsible for driving the evolution of Learning & Development across the business. Working closely with HR, senior leaders and key stakeholders, you will lead the transition from a traditional training-focused approach to a strategic, business-aligned L&D function that supports performance, leadership capability, career development and organisational growth.

Duties:

  • Lead the development and delivery of a forward-thinking Learning & Development strategy aligned to business objectives.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive L&D framework covering leadership development, career pathways, performance development and technical capability.
  • Develop and enhance the Learning Management System (LMS), improving accessibility, engagement and digital learning capability.
  • Lead and evolve the Early Careers programme, including graduate and apprentice development pathways.
  • Create impactful leadership development initiatives that build capability across all levels of the organisation.
  • Develop competency frameworks and support talent, performance and career development processes.
  • Coach and develop the L&D team, building capability and confidence within the function.
  • Partner with senior leaders, department heads, line managers and HR colleagues to identify learning priorities and organisational development needs.
  • Manage relationships with external learning providers to deliver high-quality development solutions.
  • Oversee the L&D budget, ensuring effective and value-driven investment in learning initiatives.
  • Stay informed of emerging L&D trends, technologies and best practice to continuously improve the learning offering.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Learning & Development Manager or similar role.
  • Experience developing, transforming or embedding an organisational L&D strategy.
  • Strong background in leadership development, performance development and organisational learning.
  • Experience implementing, managing or enhancing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrable experience developing competency frameworks, career pathways and talent development initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience within a professional services environment would be advantageous.
