Pensions Technical Lead

We’re seeking an experienced Pensions Technical Lead to join a collaborative pensions function during a major period of reform. From day one, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a professional, compliant and future‑focused pension service to employees, stakeholders and partners.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of a collaborated pension function, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

• Act as the technical authority on retirement, ill‑health, transfers and wider member benefits.

• Serve as the bridge between the organisation and external administrators for both public sector pension schemes.

• Provide proactive advice, recognising impacts on individuals, teams and organisational strategy.

• Drive continuous improvement and lead complex pension projects.

• Build strong relationships with regulators, boards, representative bodies and scheme providers.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience in public‑sector pensions & ideally you will have McCloud experience too.

• Strong technical understanding of pension schemes and related workforce changes.

• Proven ability to lead pension operations.

• Confidence managing relationships with regulators, boards, administrators and representative bodies.

• Excellent judgement, communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

This role would be an initial FTC with the view to go permanent in 2027, so our client can be flexible on location to begin with.
