A global engineering company have an immediate requirement for a experienced Financial Controller to manage the financial accounting, reporting and control activities in a busy finance department of 20 people.
As the Financial Controller you will have overall responsibility for the quality, integrity and timeliness of all financial control and reporting of all EU reporting entities.
Duties and Responsibilities Deliver accurate, timely and professionally presented monthly financial statements and analysis including presentation to Leadership team. Ensure compliance with all company policy and procedures and financial, legal and statutory accounting regulations. Manage all intercompany transactions and subsequent reconciliations. Management of the accounts payable function ensuring correct coding and payment within agreed credit terms. Management of accounts receivable and credit control function ensuring creditor days are strictly adhered to and cash optimisation is achieved within the business. Ensuring sales orders on contracts are set up before projects begin and the order process is controlled and accurate. Ensuring all employee payroll and expenses are paid in a timely basis and are correctly coded to the relevant expense codes. Ensuring all cash receipts are correctly allocated and cash requirements are reported into group accurately ensuring optimisation of cash within the business.
Fully qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE Experience of long term project accounting Experience of managing a large team in a calm, effective manner Ability and experience to manage a large team through a period of change Ability to drive solutions to complex operational and financial issues Confident in influencing business managers Strong ability to identify KPI's relevant to help aide business decisions Experience of working on a multi-site, multi-national environment preferred Ability to hit the ground running Excellent analytical skills including strong Excel capability
