Strategic Procurement Manager

Reports to: Group Head of Procurement and Supplier Management

Brighton: £60,000-£72,000

Job Purpose:

*

This procurement individual will be responsible for the annual Strategic Procurement Plan, which is to be implemented and managed across timescales and agreed with key stakeholders in the business.
*

This Strategic Procurement Plan will have commercial and operational factors, which must be adhered to in order to reduce risk and deliver best in class procurement strategies.
*

You will have your own set of responsibilities but you will also act as the Head of Procurement's go to colleague in their absence and you must be able to lead on both your own initiatives and those expected in the absence of the HOP and manage other procurement team members.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Ownership of end-to-end procurement projects detailed in the Strategic Procurement Plan - managing both stakeholder expectations and ensuring execution of sourcing activities in line with pre-agreed project plans.
*

Working with key stakeholders from across the business set clear goals and expected targets for each activity shown in the Strategic Procurement Plan.
*

Utilise deep understanding of industry, supplier dynamics and market trends.
*

Provide information to the Group Head of Procurement and Supplier Management, which will assist in the forecasting, re-forecasting and on-going reporting on procurement activity and budgets as and when required

Qualifications:

- Educated to degree level or holding an equivalent professional qualification

- MCIPS qualification or equivalent

Experience:

*

A demonstrable background in Strategic Procurement within a complex environment
*

Experienced in the formulation and implementation of procurement strategies including supplier assessment and due diligence, and ongoing management
*

Experienced in negotiating critical contracts whilst minimising business risk and maximising commercial benefit through scale and relationships
*

Solid experience of a range of indirect procurement categories

Knowledge:

*

Motor insurance industry
*

Excellent knowledge of procurement strategy development and execution
*

FCA requirements (including TCF)
