A pivotal role to elevate Contract Management across our client's UK business. Through the development of a fit for purpose contract management practice suppliers are being held accountable for their contractual obligations in order to mitigate against erosion of value throughout the contract life cycle and ensure incremental and cost avoidance efficiency opportunities are harvested.
The Contract Management Centre of Excellence Manager shall be responsible for the development and implementation of an overarching Contract Management framework and associated; policies, procedures, tools and templates. Responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring consistency of practice by training Contract Managers within the business * Initiation, implementation and ongoing development of a company wide knowledge base to ensure that the required Contract Management practices are visible across the organisation and connect Contract Managers to build and develop a community of practice which enables the sharing of best practice and supports the further development of Contract Management. * Provide specialist post award contract management expertise by supporting Contract Owners through the provision of any required guidance in regards to the application and use of the developed policies etc. and provide management subject matter expertise. * Develop a contract management best practice framework, processes, procedures tools and templates which drive a consistency and standardised output across Contract Managers and ensure their continuous improvement through their iteration to reflect emerging observed internal and external best practices. * Engage with Category Managers, Commercial Managers and Supplier Relationship Managers and other key stakeholders to support the development of best practice framework, processes, procedures tools and templates to ensure they are fit for purpose and achieve the required outcomes. * Drive business directorate and functional contract owner adoption via the development and implementation of an effective training programme in the use of the processes, procedures, tools and templates. * Provide ongoing advice and guidance, as required, to support business directorates and functional contract to deploy contract management frameworks and associated; policies, procedures, tools and templates within their area. * Establish and maintain a contract manager community of practice, to ensure regular sharing of best practices and support the further development of the contract management framework, policies and procedures. * Support the Head of Supplier & Contract Management in the development of a contract management target operating model to ensure clarity in regards to accountabilities. * Develop and implement a contract management technology strategy to drive simplification and increasing levels of automation of key contract management activities.
Suitable candidates will be:
* Able to demonstrate experience in contract management - track record in contract management, procurement or legal
* Experience in working within a complex stakeholder environment with a demonstrated skill in managing and influencing stakeholders
* Analytical and logical, able to think and work in a structured pattern to achieve results.
If you are IACCM or CIPS qualified with some OJEU knowledge that would be preferred.
