Further to this company's successful growth over the last 5 years, their Procurement team has seen similar success and has been established for 2 years at this business. Seeing the business grow with multiple clients from public and private sectors, they are now recruiting an addition to the team.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager this Procurement Professional will initially be on a 6 month contract. However, if the individual exceeds and delivers with this greenfield function there is a view to go permanent! There is an abundance of opportunity here for the right individual to make a difference.
Predominantly, the activities within this Procurement function have been largely aimed at high risk transactions such as subcontracted consultancy services, supporting the procurement of consultancy services that they sell to their client base.
As they expand, procurement will do so too and analyse indirect services which are not passed on to clients. Category management structure has yet to be implemented as a project and will support the way they buy services for the company, across all procurement categories.
They are also in process of upgrading their IT systems, including finance and procurement systems.
This leaves room for some exciting life-cycle procurement to come into fruition and leave a lasting impression on the business.
Category management is essential here and would require professional services and IT categories, as well as supplier governance models.
Support the procurement manager with current projects and be comfortable working independently with different areas of the business. Undertake similar tasks to the procurement manager covering professional services procurement to support client engagements.
You may be assigned strategic projects to own and oversee (e.g. enhancements to the supplier due diligence process, or IT procurement activities).
The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:
* ·Experience negotiating legal contracts (final responsibility for signing off legal agreements is supported by the contracts team). * Confident liaising with stakeholders on procurement projects. * Indirect procurement (services not commodities).
What will set you apart:
* ·Degree educated or equivalent * ·All procurement categories considered - preference towards professional services. * ·Strong preference towards candidates with procurement experience in MOD / defence /public sector (experience of complex MOD contracts) * ·CIPS or working towards: HOWEVER *this candidate will have a procurement focus rather than an SRM focus.
