Are you an IT Category Manager with true end-to-end Procurement experience? Would you like to work in a small, relatively newly formed, highly motivated, forward thinking Procurement Team, supporting the UK in a leading Global Financial Services organisation? This role will give you the opportunity to shape, build and stamp your personality on it. You will look after the financial and supplier relationship interests of this world-class organization. You will define, deliver and lead IT category management of expenditure. You will lead changes and represent your teams' influence in the selection and daily management of our suppliers. What does this role involve? You will oversee the evaluation and continued management of suppliers. You'll look after a broad range of IT hardware and software expenditure and aim to deliver maximum value and enhanced customer benefit. *Your aim is to take care of any risks that are linked to the purchasing activity as a company. They will depend on you to support risk and compliance functions with agreed group policies, legal requirements, regulation and professional ethics. *You will protect the company from all aspects of procurement risk and you will implement relevant terms and governance ensuring rigorous selection and meaningful negotiation of agreements. *Inclusion of the commercial, legal and service level negotiations of contracts, renewals and disputes. Support a broad variety of IT projects and IT category initiatives, ensure your department's objectives are met and inspire the business to use your services. *You will maintain and develop your strong awareness of IT market advancements in purchasing techniques, product technology and supply market activity in order to identify and exploit advantageous commercial opportunities. Experience required: *You should have a degree or equivalent in a commercial or business field? *You should have at least 5 years IT category management experience, this is essential to establish credibility with internal and external Partners. *You command a deep understanding and successful performance record in delivering and leading IT category plans. You're able to evidence experience of successfully operating sourcing methodologies and processes. *Experience of developing and managing critical metrics and balanced scorecards; acting as a project manager and leading tasks as required. *Experience gained from working in a financial services and in particular Insurance is desirable. As is having excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills. *Be confident in managing senior business relationships and have strong influencing skills
