A Global Insurance company based in West Sussex are looking for an Audit Manager to work with the Finance Director to plan, co-ordinate, support and project manage the audit plan for the financial year endi ensuring the business is ready for audit and delivers it on time. It is essential that any potential candidates come from an Insurance background.

Key responsibilities:
* Ensure the audit plan and timeline is aligned with the Regulatory and Group audit timeline and deliverables
* Propose procedures to mitigate identified control deficiencies
* Testing of underlying reconciliations on key balances and counter party balances
* Preparing accounting reconciliations and financial statements disclosure as required
* Preparing financial statements and ensure that the linkage between the underlying records is adequate.
* Review and evidence that all supporting schedules to the financial statements are complete with appropriate review within the senior finance team.
* Application of technical accounting standards (FRS102/103) within financial statements
* Prepare technical papers to support key insurance balances and accounting treatment as required
* Analytical review preparation
* Liaise with Underwriting Director to support actuarial documentation supporting technical provisions is delivered per timetable.
* Liaise with Regulatory Reporting Manager on preparation and audit of PRA annual returns

Essential Skills:

* Senior Audit Manager Experience within a top 4 firm
* Qualified Accountant
* Strong insurance background
* Strong technical insurance accounting knowledge
