As Assistant Category Manager you will support the Procurement Category Mangers and Head of Category in developing and implementing specific engineering category strategies. This will include developing and implementing sub category strategies and providing all category analytical support services and data to the engineering category teams, including spend, market and tender bid analysis services
Accountabilities: * To develop and implement sub category strategies for engineering. * To be responsible for carrying out supply market analysis. * To undertake bid support including developing cost breakdown templates, cost breakdown analysis, quotation analysis * To provide eSourcing support including bid sheet development * To provide cost change analysis to support renegotiations * To undertake sourcing activities on specific categories as directed. * To liaise with the Category Data Analyst (Planning & Performance team) to provide commodity pricing and spend data * To develop working relationships across the organisation that allow early involvement of Procurement any external third party spend and enable both the Category Managers and Head of Category to develop joint Procurement and Business collaborative initiatives to drive cost reduction and value from supplier relationships. * To achieve annual savings targets as agreed with the Head of Category and relevant business stakeholders.
Suitable candidates will have: * Proven experience of analysing complex data and developing reports and presentations * Proven experience of sourcing activities * Ability to manipulate data using Excel
